Inspired by Portuguese Azulejos, painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework. Azulejos are found on the interior and exterior of churches, palaces, ordinary houses, schools, and nowadays, restaurants, bars and even railways or subway stations. I've seen so many beautiful examples of the tiles in Portugal, I wanted to design a piece in hommage to them. Created from original drawings & collaged painted papers, designed in a fun & colourful style drawing upon heritage and the good old days.
